A helicopter ride, a glacier landing & dog sledding on snow in the summer in Alaska... There is no better way to see Alaska than from the air, and there’s no better Alaskan activity than dog sledding. So combine the two and you can do some real dog sledding, on real snow, in the middle of the summer!
Your guide will pick you up and take you the short drive south to Girdwood where the real adventure begins. Board a brand new Robinson R44 helicopter for the flight through the mountain peaks in the Chugach Range to the glacier.
Once on the glacier you’ll get out of the helicopter, meet the professional dog musher who is a member of the 2013 Iditarod Champion team, and take a real dog sled ride.
The musher and the canine athletes you will be working with today all train under Mitch Seavey’s team, the 2013 Iditarod Champion kennel! Your tour includes round trip helicopter flights (15 minutes) and about 1.5 hours on the glacier with the dogs and dog musher.
This tour includes guided transportation from your hotel to the helipad, complimentary glacier water and snacks.
