Day 1: Aug 27 Arrive Calgary

Arrive in Calgary and spend the rest of the day sightseeing in “The Heart of the New West” independently. Overnight in Calgary.

Day 2: Aug 28 Calgary to Lake Louise, with Panoramic Helicopter Tour

Depart Calgary this morning for a full-day tour concluding in Lake Louise. Journey to Kananaskis where you will enjoy the highlight of today, a 12-minute Panoramic Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Continue on to Banff for a sightseeing tour including Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Banff Gondola included. Your tour ends on arrival in world famous Lake Louise late this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 3: Aug 29 Sightseeing Tour Yoho Park Lake Louise to Banff

This morning you are free to explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Banff. Overnight in Banff. Please note: While departure from The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 2:00 p.m., scheduled checkout time is normally 12:00 p.m. Your luggage will be stored upon checkout and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel before the tour departs.

Day 4: Aug 30 Icefields Parkway Tour, including Ice Explorer, Banff to Jasper

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway. Among the highlights are Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield, Glacier Skywalk and Athabasca Falls. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Arrive in Jasper late this afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 5: Aug 31 Sightseeing Tour Jasper Highlights

Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies’ largest national park. Today you will enjoy a scenic half-day tour of some of the park’s natural attractions and rugged peaks, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the wildlife that calls this region home. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 6: Sep 1 Jasper to Kamloops

Board the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Jasper Station at 8:10am MT. Today you will travel from Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops, located in the heart of the British Columbia Interior. As you journey west and south you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Breakfast & lunch will be served onboard. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, the climb over Yellowhead Pass, and the journey along the North Thompson River as you approach Kamloops. You will arrive in Kamloops between 5:30pm and 7:00pm PT. Spend the evening exploring the town, or relaxing in your hotel. All hotels in Kamloops are of moderate standard: your hotel will be assigned post-booking.

Day 7: Sep 2 Kamloops to Vancouver

Board the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Kamloops Station at 7:35am PT. On today’s journey west, you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. You will arrive in Vancouver between 6:00pm and 7:30pm PT.

Day 11: Sep 6 Skagway – docked

The great Klondike Gold Rush lives on in Skagway’s charming downtown of restored 19th-century buildings and its historic railway. Located on the edge of the wilderness, this small town saw its fair share of gold rush, get rich dreamers pass through. Today, its residents are more than welcome to share the stories of its untamed past. And there’s so much fascinating history to uncover on a Skagway cruise. Head to Klondike Gold Rush National Park Museum for an in-depth look at Klondike and the two routes out of Skagway – Chilkoot Pass and White Pass. From the vintage train, admire the mountains and see the 1898 trail that fortune seekers traveled on foot. The White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad runs the vintage locomotives through the famously steep Chilkoot Trail and offers sweeping mountain views during its climb toward Canada.

You’ll sail beyond the Inside Passage Cruise into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage, a complex labyrinth of fjords and bays where whales and sea lions find refuge during the summer months.

Day 12: Sep 7 Cruising Glacier Bay

From the bottom of the deepest glacial fjord to the summit of its highest peak, Glacier Bay encompasses some of our continent’s most amazing scenery and wildness.

Day 13: Sep 8 Ketchikan – docked

Known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’, Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit people, who have carved the world’s largest collection of totem poles.

If you’re up for an adventure, take a canoe and nature trail excursion through the rain forest or a wilderness exploration followed by a sumptuous crab feast you’ll long remember.

Day 14: Sep 9 Cruising Inside Passage

Day 15: Sep 10 Arrive Vancouver 7AM

Arrive Vancouver this morning and enjoy breakfast onboard before disembarking. Make your own way to your hotel which is a short taxi ride away. You’ll be picked up for your Vancouver City & the Lookout tour from your hotel lobby by 10AM.

This tour of culturally rich Vancouver begins with an introduction to key downtown including Canada Place, and Robson Street. Wind through historic and modern architectural wonders en route to Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre natural oasis, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. View the First Nations Totem Poles, and gaze upon ever-changing rainforest and shoreline scenery on the way through the park. Get the camera ready for a photo stop at Prospect Point, with a great view of Lions Gate Bridge. Continue to the enchanting sights of English Bay beach area, followed by the eclectic Granville Island Market. This artisan’s market embodies the ideal of smaller is better, with all food, art, and music locally produced, as a labour of love. Top off this adventure with a glass elevator ride 169 metres above the streets, at the Vancouver Lookout, for views of the ocean framed by the lush Coastal Mountains, busy city and rugged shoreline. Day 16: Sep 11 Vancouver –Mountain Discovery Tour 6.5hrs

Immerse yourself in the mountainside rainforest on Vancouver’s North Shore. Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park for an exhilarating walk across the 450-foot bridge span high above the riverbed. Stroll the suspended walkways throughout the forest canopy and a path cantilevered to the granite cliff-side. Enjoy a stop at the Capilano Salmon Hatchery to learn about the area and the lifecycle of salmon. Plus, step aboard the Grouse Mountain Skyride that travels one aerial mile to the Peak Chalet for seasonal entertainment including live performances, chairlifts, and exhibits. This tour is conducted on a comfortable mini-coach seating up to 30 passengers and offering exceptional visibility.
